Living in Europe exposed me to the sheer size and demand of the secondhand clothing market.
I learned that secondhand options are always part of the choice when buying clothes, and this holds true regardless of the customer demographic.
For someone born and raised in Japan, this highlighted cultural differences and prompted me to rethink my own consumption habits.

“Buying new fabric to create is fine, but making my own pieces from secondhand clothing might also be better for the planet.”
Driven by this thought, I began creating works using secondhand clothing starting in 2024.
